JOYCE SEAMONE NOW HAS PROGRAM "COUNTRY FROM THE HEART" ON NEW SACKVILLE NS RADIO STATION

April, 2010

3178 Highway 10, Pinehurst, NS B0R 1E0

I’m happy to announce that I am hosting my own one hour specialty country music radio show, “Country from the Heart”, that made its debut , Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 8 PM Atlantic Time on the brand new Sackville Special Event Radio Station, located at 69 Colonel Joseph Scott Drive, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada, B4C 4B1. In the area you can pick it up on 106.9 FM and although the signal is limited, at the present time, most important for those inside and outside of the immediate area, it can also be picked up on the internet at www.sackvilleradio.ca and click on “listen live”. In the future during the show I will also be doing some interviews.

The Grand Ole Opry is an institution where in the beginning it wouldn’t even allow drums on the stage. Later, that all changed and drums were a regular addition to the opry. We still like the vintage country sound with fiddles and pedal steel guitar, but a certain age group grew up not just with that music, but also with early rock and roll. Some of today’s country has brought into it the DNA from all of this. The new station will be a bit different, playing a bit of everything from classic country, to bluegrass, to Newfoundland music and some of today’s country as well.

I have always loved music from the time I grew up listening to the radio, watching early TV variety shows that featured musical performances and performing locally in church and school musical activities. I have never looked back and have to my credit many awards and nominations. Some include a Gold Record for Testing 1-2-3, induction into the NSCMHF (Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame), and the Stompin’ Tom ECMA (East Coast Music Association) award for Mainland Nova Scotia. I am a songwriter, having some of my material recorded by other artists, and I’m also a published author. I have in the past produced and hosted my own TV show “In Conversation”, on Eastlink Television, and I am the Artistic Director/Music Coordinator for the past seven years for the Fox Mountain Country Music Festival. Now I am looking forward to my stint as a DJ bringing to you my style of country music.

On my debut album, the picture of me is one with a set of head phones on, singing my heart out.

I feel like I have come full circle. Here I am, once again, although you can’t see me, but you will be able to picture me in your minds, with a set of headphones on, playing music for you that “comes from my heart”.

I invite you to tune in anytime to the station and hear other well known names like Al Hollingsworth, Frank Lowe, Jim Francis, Bill Grover, Ray Hill, Gordon Heffler, Wayne Adams and others as the station progresses.

I want to also thank Owen Davis, President, for this new opportunity I have been given.

Once again, that’s “Country from the Heart”, every Thursday from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Atlantic Time, at either 106.9 FM, or on the internet at www.sackvilleradio.ca and click on “listen live”.
